Edited Books

Extended versions of selected papers from the conference proceedings shall be published in edited books by Research Publishing Services, Singapore. Authors of invited papers must strictly obey the guidelines on formatting requirements and DEADLINES for the chapters of the edited books.

NOTE: The edited book chapter is DIFFERENT in both format and content from the proceedings paper from which it is obtained.

The "extended" version of the conference paper should include "extended" introduction, "extended" literature survey and present all necessary background information needed by an average person to understand to make the chapter more autonomous and readable to enable adoption as a chapter of a textbook for graduate level courses.

To be considered for the edited books the extended version of proceedings paper must fulfill the following requirements:

  • PAPER LENGTH: Length of each contribution should be between 10 and 30 A4 pages written in 10-point font, including all graphics and list of references.
  • PAPER STRUCTURE: All contributions should have the following eleven (11) sections:
    • Summary (or Extended Abstract)
    • Table of Contents
    • Introduction
    • Background
    • Literature Review
    • Materials, Tools and Approach/Method/Scheme
    • Results and Discussions
    • Future Extensions
    • Review Questions
    • Solutions/Hints to Review Questions
    • References
    • Glossary
  • The "Review Questions" section must include miminum of 10 questions and/or projects related to the discussions in the paper/chapter. This will promote the adoption of the edited books as textbooks for graduate courses.
  • "Solutions to Review Questions" section should provide concrete solutions to the problems formulated in the previous chapter or suggest solution hints or pathways.
  • Accepted file types: The main paper MUST be compiled using either LaTeX/TeXLive (MS Word files may be considered if there is room. Authors must convert each graphic in the MS file into .eps file separately). Please click here to download a LaTeX style file.
  • File naming convention: All files associated with a submission should be named after the last name of the first/principal author. For example, a paper co-authored by John Mensah should be named "mensah.tex" or "mensah.doc". In fact, we strongly ask authors to use LaTeX package which is freely available on the Internet. All the graphics, i.e. figures and tables in the paper should be converted to "EPS" formats and named accordingly. For example: mensah_fig1.eps, mensah_fig2.eps, mensah_table1.eps, etc. This is not necessary if the tables or figures have been made using latex and embedded in the main file.
  • All files belonging to the same paper should be zipped and uploaded as one single document. Multiple documents for the same paper will not be accepted. Please use ONLY WINZIP for the zipping, no UNIX compression packages are acceptable. Documents expected in the zipped file are: the compiled file in pdf format, the graphics in EPS format, the main file in .tex or .doc format. Multiple papers submitted by the same set of authors must be submitted independently.
  • Edited book chapters MUST be submitted by following the schedule here.
